About Us The San Diego Committee on Employment of People With Disabilities is an organization that advocates and promotes employment opportunities for people with disabilities through community action, education and collaboration with community agencies, government agencies and private companies. SDCEPD was founded in 1999 as a part of the Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. As a result of new legislation and the establishment of One Stop Centers, Workforce Partnership and other Agencies, the Affiliated Local Committees on Employment of People with Disabilities were divested from the Governor’s committee in 2005. SDCEPD is the only all volunteer nonprofit committee in San Diego devoted entirely to enhancing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. SDCEPD Committee is comprised of volunteers from the public, private and nonprofit sectors. The committee works closely with the Department of Rehabilitation, Workforce Partnership Disability Navigation Coordinators and other Agencies in providing training and resources to employers and job seekers with disabilities. SDCEPD supports Agencies and events that promote employment opportunities for job seekers with disabilities. We also support other events that enhance or provide visibility to the disabled workforce. Past events include NAMI Walk, Cal-Diego PVA Reflections, and Youth Leadership Forum for Students with Disabilities.
